Metabolism is a network of enzymatic reactions providing chemical substances and energy to sustain life. Metabolome analysis, which is high-throughput and comprehensive chemical analysis of intracellular metabolites, is indispensable to interpret biochemical meanings of DNA microarray and proteomics data. Our projects include 1) development of high-throughput comprehensive chemical analysis, 2) bioinformatics to reconstruct and simulate metabolism, 3) applications of metabolome data to medicine, metabolic engineering, and agriculture.
